Voted as one of the top 10 beaches in the UK for families and activities Harlyn Bay has everything and is slightly off the beaten track. When it comes to surf Harlyn Bay provides some of the best waves for a surf school in the UK.
Don’t fancy surfing? Because of its sheltered location Harlyn Bay is also great for those who wish to paddleboard or kayak. We have a great range of Sup’s and sit on top kayaks ready to hire. Why not try body-boarding and slide down the waves on your belly rather than your feet for a smoother ride. Or for the adrenalin junkies why not try one of our coasteering adventures? Harlyn Bay has some fantastic coastal features, perfect for this activity. The beach is two thirds of a mile long, with plenty of space for all beach goers, swimmers and those enjoying water-sports.
As well as numerous water sport opportunities, Harlyn Bay is also regularly cleaned by local conservation groups such as Beach Guardian and Surfers Against Sewage, making it the perfect place to sunbathe on the shore.
There are other amenities in close proximity such as Food For Thought catering van, public toilets and plenty of parking spaces.
You will find the surf school just as you come through the car park and on to the beach – just look for tall flags. Harlyn Bay is a dog friendly beach and dogs are welcome all year round!
Supporting Beach Guardian To Keep Harlyn Bay Clean
Beach Guardian run a variety of organised beach cleans across the ‘Seven Bays’ in North Cornwall. Centred around the village of St Merryn, the Seven Bays, Trevone, Harlyn, Mother Ivey’s, Booby’s, Constantine, Treyarnon and Porthcothan.
All equipment will be provided and Beach Guardian will remove everything collected on our beach cleans. Beach cleans are family friendly, the more helping hands the better! Check out all their events on their Facebook page.
